If you’re a Dire Straits fan or have read bassist John Illsley‘s recently published book about the band, you know the impact keyboardist Alan Clark has had on the band’s arrangements. Alan’s solo album Backstory features new arrangements of the Dire Straits songs he originally played on. Using only his piano, Alan, is able to evoke new magic around ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Love Over Gold’, as well as Bob Dylan’s ‘I and I’, and some of his own tunes. A well-known fully fledged composer and producer, Alan Clark reminds us of the impact he has had on the world of rock and pop over the years, and for that we thank him.”
